Newark, Calif. — 9/26/2007

Socket Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCKT), dba Socket Mobile, Inc., an innovative provider of mobile productivity solutions, today announced an increased order from Bender Enterprises for its Cordless Hand Scanner (CHS) Series 7 to meet a growing need for vehicle tracking solutions.

Bender Enterprises, a leading provider of automatic data collection and training technologies, offers the Socket Mobile Cordless Hand Scanner (CHS) Series 7 loaded with the Bender VINtrack software to law enforcement agencies and insurance companies to identify stolen vehicles. Bender has increased its annual CHS order three-fold to more than 1,000 units to support growth in its customer base, which now includes more than 200 local, state and federal agencies around the world. The automotive industry, law enforcement agencies and insurance companies implement the VINtrack / CHS solution to identify stolen vehicles and accelerate crime investigation or claim processing.

“We see a sharp increase in stolen vehicles and auto parts in the aftermath of natural disasters, so the VINtrack / CHS solution is in particularly high demand during this time of year,” said Mike Bender, president of Bender Enterprises. “We deployed the solution in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and were able to accelerate the recovery of lost, damaged and stolen vehicles and parts significantly. Since then, we’ve continued to see steady growth in demand for the VINtrack / CHS solution in the law enforcement, automotive and insurance markets. We’ve been very happy with the CHS device and its ability to serve our customers’ rigorous needs.”

“Mobile workforces performing time-sensitive and critical tasks such as vehicle theft detection need flexible, interoperable, portable technology they can rely on. The VINtrack / CHS solution has quickly established a reputation in the law enforcement and insurance sectors and we’ve grown sales of the solution as a result of high customer satisfaction levels and frequent customer referrals,” said Bob Zink, senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing at Socket Mobile. “This partnership demonstrates the value that our devices, combined with specialist applications and expertise such as that offered by Bender Enterprises, bring to mobile workforces.”

The Socket Mobile CHS Series 7 is a lightweight, handheld, highly maneuverable device with powerful scanning capabilities, enabling quick scanning of large quantities of items even in confined spaces. The VINtrack software evaluates thousands of database combinations to confirm Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) match the manufacturer’s non-published data. Law enforcement officials and insurance agents implement the solution to accurately and efficiently identify stolen vehicles. The combined CHS and VINtrack solution integrates seamlessly with most existing data systems in police patrol cars.
